Chris is a board-certified chaplain through Clinical Pastoral Education International (CPEI).
- Master of Divinity with a concentration in chaplaincy.
- Chris previously held an introductory credential (CC) with the Spiritual Care Association (SCA). Chris also has done clinical training in hospital settings through ACPE and CPSP, as well as academic training in medical humanities.
- The Religious Naturalist Association (RNA) has been the endorsement body during Chris’s chaplaincy/credentialing journey.
Chris is currently working toward a credential to be able to launch their own OtherWise CPE center, with a national (potentially international) scope using CPEI’s distance learning model. Chris is passionate about support for students and supervisees who experience disproportionate challenges in traditional CPE cohorts due to bias around gender, sexuality, race, nationality, and/or spiritual perspective.
Calendar
Spring 2027 – Chris will be completing their supervisory training by leading a hybrid CPE cohort, based in the Robert Wood Johnson (RWJ) hospital system in New Jersey. CPEI affiliate: RWJ Hamilton, Training Supervisor Tedford Taylor
Summer 2027 – Chris is building their first national cohort. CPEI affiliate: Princeton Pastoral Care, Training Supervisor: Tedford Taylor. Because this cohort is not based in a hospital system, students will need to negotiate a clinical site local to their residence and in alignment with their learning goals.
On-going – Chris can also be engaged for CEU trainings on a variety of topics, as well as individual ad hoc support.
